I really like your points here, Vinny. I’m usually the first one annoying my friends with the “verify before you share” advice. I agree we need to research and find trusted news sources. I would add we also need to be aware of the spiritual warfare going on around us and that along with sensational, fake stories that are meant to divide, there may well be deceptive things happening in the dark that need to be brought into the light. Praying for discernment is key.

So important! Especially for my crowd. Us Millennials have done powerful and great things with technology – yet we can also be irresponsible and careless with it. A call to maturity – especially when it comes to our faith – is so important!

I could not agree more; there is way too much political venom in “Christian” circles. (By the way, I think the first photo, the picture of the tweet posted by “Army of Jesus,” is blasphemous. I do not even want to look at it.)

I think the ultimate cure to this deplorable situation that your post addresses is for Christians to realize that they are supposed to be about the business of their Lord, not somebody’s personal agenda. We are called to be witnesses to Jesus, and if something detracts from or damages our witness, we should not do it, however much it may look nice from a worldly, utilitarian, or otherwise mainly earth-focused way of thinking. Equally, we should be willing to experience humiliation to be His witness. I think some of the problem is that young or new Christians are, often enough, in America, specifically taught that they should care about other things than Jesus. Some people, even pastors and sunday school teachers, tried to tell me that Jesus wasn’t really all I wanted, that I did not really want to know Him above all else, that I didn’t really want to obey His last command and tell everyone about Him whatever the fleshly “risk.” I suspect this and similar things go on in a lot of places.
