This week we finish our series on Jerusalem! Pastor Vinnie, Jon, and Peter explain how Jersulem finally finds its victory! God has a plan for His holy city and we have not seen the end of this amazing city of peace. The city of Peace became a blaze of war in 70AD and was toppled to the ground. The middle east has remained a mess since then with Jersulem always surprisingly at the center of takeovers, takedowns, and conflicts. Jerusalem has come to be one of the least likely places we’d look to find peace. But the final battle is not over yet. The Book of Revelation actually has a lot to say about this city’s final fate. In the New Testament Jesus declares the destruction of Jerusalem but is that really the end? Listen now! And find out why and city of hope, peace, and righteousness is cast down and destroyed. Are there lessons we can learn to prevent this from happening to us?

In part one we explore particularly the ironic nature of its roots as it passes hands from Melchizedek to Abraham and then from David to Jesus. As we watch Jerusalem rise in the Old Testament as the beloved city of Peace and Righteousness, it becomes a symbol of hope and communion with Heaven, which makes it shocking when in the New Testament Jesus declares its destruction! Jerusalem is the very city of which Jesus, Himself, wept over, and cried out, “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing.” (Matthew 23:37) What is so special about Jerusalem? Why did Jesus speak of Jerusalem as being a place that kills? Doesn’t Jerusalem, itself, mean the City of Peace? In the first part of a three-part series on the Sermon On The Mount, we set the stage for the context of the whole sermon and then start breaking down the deep meaning of each of the Beatitudes. We explore why what Jesus was saying in the Beatitudes was so controversial. Find out how the Beatitudes can help us love God and each other better. As we study the wonder of the beauty of these words of Jesus we are awakened to the deeper and marvelous possibilities for the Church and how we could change the world together!

As continue to study the sermon on the mount we will keep seeing that the Beatitudes are the keys to the whole sermon. Jesus uses the Beatitudes to shock, provoke, and awaken the crowd to the importance of all He is about to say during the sermon on the mount. In fact, the Beatitudes become the template for not only the sermon but also the whole Christian worldview. If this sermon is the apex sermon of Jesus, as I believe it is, then understanding the depth of the Beatitudes is the keys to the Kingdom.

PODCAST| The Power In Galilee

During the last three episodes, we have been focusing on Jesus’s ministry in Galilee. We have spent time looking at the various places Jesus lived in Galilee and even his power over demons in Galilee. Now in our final segment on the ministry of Jesus in Galilee, we are going to zero in on the power of Jesus and when and why He uses it. We will take a look at two interlinking stories and see the majestic nature of His divine timing.
Do you ever wonder why God sometimes seems to wait until that last minute to show His power? He has reasons. Often were don’t understand the reasons why God’s power does not show up at the exact time we want it to. In the ministry of Jesus in Galilee, we really get a deeper understanding of why sometimes Jesus makes us wait for answers. Our lives are way more interlinking than we likely notice. In this story, we see the power of Jesus fully unleashed in Galilee and are left spellbound by the protection on its timing. We see the power of Jesus shine through in Galilee in two different stories that actually happen at the same time. In the interlinking of these two powerful stories we actually become much more aware of how the story we are living out might not just be before us. In this podcast episode, we see a woman with an issue of blood and a leader with a dead child finally see grace in a way that their story actually depended on each other to fulfill.
