Do The Gospels Tell Us The Truth About Jesus?

| SEASON 2 Ep 4

[Podcast]

By Pastor Vinnie & Jonathan Martin

Do the Gospels tell us the truth about Jesus and who he really was and what he really did and said?  Are the Gospel accounts in the Bible trustworthy? Why were some Gospel accounts left out of the Bible? Is there any truth to claims that some skeptics make saying that people have changed what the Gospel writers wrote? How do we know the Gospel writers were who they said they were and told us the truth? Learn from a scholar how to be certain, beyond a reasonable doubt, if what the Bible says about Jesus holds up to scrutiny or not?

The week Jonathan and Pastor Vinnie are joined by Pastor Daniel Royo who is finishing up his Ph.D. in Bible studies. Daniel fields questions from Jon and Vinnie on the hard issues about the Gospel accounts of Jesus in the Bible. In this episode, we hold no punches and explore the question of why some “Gospels” were left out of the Bible and If the text of the Gospels has been changed or tampered with.

We look at what modern non-believing scholars think about the New Testament, the Gospels, and their history. We explore where the Gospels and the whole New Testament come from and how we got our copies. And we ask hard questions about why different manuscripts vary. If you have ever had questions about where the Bible comes from or the authenticity of the Bible, and specifically the New Testament Gospel accounts, this is the podcast episode for you.

This is a must-not-miss episode of Simply Devotion!

 About Seasons Two:

While season 1 is still in the archives, for those who want to review it, each season of this podcast is a little be different than the last. Last season I (Pastor Vinnie) focused on mostly stand-alone topics.
He had occasional guests yet, he was the main presenter. This season we are changing things up. Our focus for this full season is the historical Jesus; including his culture, people, political situation, and geographical footprint. We are joined by Jonathan Martin who is my new co-host for the season!

It is all about seeking Jesus on deeper theological levels.
